The 2023 model year is almost upon us, and it’s an exciting time in the car world. The variety of new car models coming out has never been greater.
We’ll see some serious performance cars that put hybrid power to the test, an amazing naturally aspirated supercar, several new EVs, and some amazing luxury vehicles. The menu is larger than ever, and you’ll find a veritable smorgasbord of vehicles that could fit your needs or simply tickle your fancy when they arrive. Let’s take a tour of ten models that are heading to the 2023 auto market.
Porsche Macan EV
Nothing like starting off with an exciting SUV from Porsche. The new Macan EV arrives for 2023 to give us a look at what this company intends to do with its electrification plan. The Taycan was the first EV offering from Porsche, and it became so popular it outsold the 911. Expect the Macan EV to be just as popular when it hits the market. Could this new electric SUV become the model you love to drive when it’s time to take the kids to school?
Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06
Going to the opposite end of power from the Macan EV, the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 is one of the most anticipated car models heading to the market. This new top-level performer delivers 670 horsepower from a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. It’s incredible that Chevy found a way to build a smaller but more powerful engine in their mid-engined Corvette. The gearbox offered is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to give you the shifting you desire when you hit the accelerator for some serious fun.
Mazda CX-70 and CX-90
We won’t see the new CX-60 in the United States, but we do get the CX-70 and CX-90 SUVs. Mazda has almost transitioned to an entirely SUV lineup, save for the Miata. These new SUVs offer a gorgeous widebody design and modern powertrain features to give us a hybrid powertrain that could be perfect for our family SUV. The CX-70 delivers a five-seat layout, while the larger CX-90 gives you room for seven people. These two Mazda SUVs could be the right answer for the highly-competitive midsize SUV class.
Mazda MX-5 Miata ND3
Speaking of the Miata, a new version arrives as one of the most exciting 2023 car models we’ll see. The car that epitomized fun and brought us “zoom zoom” takes a leap forward. The ND generation is getting a little long in the tooth but creating the ND3 gives this car more of what we want. This model will be lighter than the current version, which should increase the power and offer you more fun on the road. More details will arrive as we get closer to the December sales date for this Miata.
Ferrari Purosangue SUV
The most interesting aspect of the upcoming Ferrari Purosangue is the fact that it exists at all. This SUV is a big deal and finally brings Ferrari into the exotic SUV game. This could be the only SUV in the market to deliver a V12 engine, which is insane to think about. This model will be the first to arrive, but a V8 and hybrid V6 are on the table to arrive later.
Aston Martin Vanquish
We’ve heard this name before and know it is an exciting car. Aston Martin updates the Vanquish for 2023 to be one of the most incredible car models once again. This model is expected to be something entirely different from what this brand has offered in the past. This new version is a mid-engine model that should take on some of the other exotic supercars and leave them in the dust. It will be exciting to see this car on a track with the McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo.
Toyota GR Corolla
For those of us who will do nothing more than admire the Vanquish, the new Toyota GR Corolla is more likely to be in our driveways. This is a racing hot hatch that delivers some serious performance and fun. We didn’t get the GR Yaris, and we’re still a little sore about being left out. Hopefully, the new GR Corolla will have enough to make up for being passed over before. It should; this is an exciting hot hatch that’s ready for some serious fun.
Hyundai Ioniq 7
Hyundai is building an arsenal of electrified vehicles, and the next to arrive is the Hyundai Ioniq 7. This vehicle is a full-size three-row SUV that adds to the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models using the same platform. This could be one of the most impressive car models coming out in 2023. The Ioniq 7 is said to have up to 400 miles of driving range, which is impressive. This SUV should arrive in the second half of 2023, which means we have lots of time to talk about it.
BMW X8
The new BMW X8 rides on the same platform as the X7 to be an alternative to the family-sized three-row SUV. If you’re familiar with the BMW naming structure, most of the even numbers identify coupes or coupe-like vehicles. The X8 is basically the coupe version of the X7. We should see a variety of engines, which is typical of this brand. If you’ve been looking for a large BMW SUV and the X7 is too family-oriented for you, the X8 could be the right model for you to drive.
Ford Mustang S650
The muscle car we know and love is taking things to the next level. Both the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engines will receive hybrid power to give them a boost and offer us a more exciting Mustang. If you love your Ford Mustang, you’ll be glad to see what this car delivers. This might become the most exciting of the car models coming out for the 2023 model year. Ford is keeping the details of what this pony car will offer quiet for now, but you can be we’ll be all over it when the details are available.
