What to Know About Ford SYNC 4

What to Know About Ford SYNC 4

Ford’s SYNC infotainment system first arrived in 2007 and was one of the first systems to provide drivers with tech to connect their phones to their cars. Since then, the SYNC system has gone through several updates and changes. The newest Ford vehicles now have SYNC 4 with more power and capability than ever. Here’s everything you need to know (and more) about Ford SYNC 4.

Life on the Go with SYNC 4?

Life on the go is easier than ever with Ford SYNC 4. The updated conversational voice recognition makes it easier to use than ever, and the driver can keep their hands on the wheel while using many of its functions.

Updated Graphics and More Capabilities

SYNC 4 made its debut in the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the new system will have a different look and different capabilities depending on what Ford vehicle you have. The newly available 12-inch touch screen has a split-screen capability for easy multitasking. The screen can split into larger and smaller windows, so you can view more than one thing at a time. This means you can keep your navigation route on the screen while you scroll through your playlist, so you don’t miss your next turn.

What Are Adaptive Dash Cards?

The even larger 15.5-inch touch screen has a new feature called Adaptive Dash Cards. Dash Cards are your most frequently used apps, and they stay listed horizontally under the main screen, so you can easily go back to them instead of navigating through the menus to get there. These cards display helpful information, such as the next step on your navigation route and they’re also interactive. You can use them to pause your music or skip to the next song without navigating through menus to get to your music app.

Stay Connected to the Cloud

Ford SYNC 4 takes advantage of the updated technology that now comes with all new Fords. Since all new cars and trucks will offer FordPass Connect with a Wi-Fi hotspot, SYNC 4 comes standard with cloud connectivity. This means you’ll always have the latest information from your navigation maps to local traffic and weather.

SYNC 4 even has your back when you need to find a place to park. Whether you know the area where you need to find parking, or you don’t even know where to start, it can find you open parking spots and tell you how much you’ll have to pay to park there.

The latest SYNC 4 system can understand your voice requests better than ever. Cloud-based voice process is more advanced than ever and can understand conversational speech. When you’re driving through a new neighborhood and get hungry, you can just ask, “Where’s the best Italian restaurant” and it will give you some suggestions.

Staying connected, informed, and entertained is easier than ever with Ford SYNC 4. Your new Ford can help you navigate unfamiliar territory, suggest a destination you might like, and even remind you to call your mother.
