If you haven’t heard of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, you’re in for a treat. This is an incredible luxury sports car.
This car comes from the efforts of both Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing and is officially classified as this British brand’s first hypercar. In laymen’s terms, the Valkyrie is a race car built for the everyday road. Maybe that’s why it’s named after the Norse spirits who decided the fates of warriors in battle.
It’s More Than What’s Under The Hood
Most people when they look at the Aston Martin Valkyrie, are going to go straight to performance specs. This beast does have an impressive engine powering things along the road. Check under the hood to find a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 hybrid engine combined with an electric motor.
The gas portion of this powertrain creates 1,000 horsepower, plus another 160 hp from the electric side of things. Together, they also create 663 lb-ft of pure power torque. If you go with the AMR Pro model, you get some higher output numbers along with a lower weight.
Redefining Luxury
While some might think of the Aston Martin Valkyrie as a sporty speedster, but they are only getting half of the story. This two-seater has a teardrop-shaped cockpit that puts passengers in a feet-up reclined position. This position might seem odd to people who are used to cruising in sedans and SUVs, but it’s right on point for Formula 1 race cars.
There’s no room for distraction when you’re behind the wheel of a hypercar. That’s why Aston Martin put all of this car’s switchgear on the steering wheel. These switches come in either anodized silver, black, or red.
You can choose from a variety of colors and patterns for the interior to make sure your Valkyrie matches your personality. To get the most out of the small cabin, you can get specifically designed seats based on 3D scans of your body. The steering wheel is even detachable for easier entering and exiting.
For those who like tech, you’ll love the collection of screens that replace the normal gauge cluster. You’ll get live feeds from the camera side mirrors right to this screen, along with real-time vehicle information and controls.
This Vehicle Won’t Last
The Aston Martin Valkyrie has been a rumor for several years, so excitement is more than building. Rumor is that there will only be 150 units created at the based trim and 25 units for the AMR Pro model. This kind of exclusivity leads directly into the luxury feel of this amazing vehicle.
The regular trim will start at around three million dollars, while the AMR Pro will cost $3.5 million. The rumored convertible version that is coming is sure to have a competitive price.
To make sure auto buyers aren’t just grabbing the Aston Martin Valkyrie to resell for a profit, Aston Martin’s CEO Andy Palmer created a rule that anyone who is caught flipping this car will lose the car and never be offered another special again.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the kind of vehicle we just can’t wait to see hit the road.
