Stretch Your Drive in the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe

Stretch Your Drive in the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe

At the top of the BMW lineup is the 8 Series which is an incredible flagship sedan that offers the luxury fun you’re looking for on the road.

This is where you find a lot of power and the most luxury features in packages that will make your daily commute more of a pleasure than ever before. If you need more room for the errands you run, the gear you need to take with the kids, and the smooth length that you want to enjoy, the Gran Coupe could be the answer you’re looking for. This car is longer and wider from the A-pillar to the rear to give you the length and the build you want.

Using the Same Power

You should expect the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe to use the same powertrains as the regular 8 Series models. This car makes use of a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that makes 335 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque while the M850i xDrive is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 523 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque. You’ll be able to find the right power for the Gran Coupe model thatyou want to take with you when it’stime to pick up gear or a new antique for your home.

What Makes the Gran Coupe Different

Compared to the 8 Series coupe, the Gran Coupe has a wheelbase that’s been stretched by 7.9 inches. The body offers you an extra nine inches in length, the roof stands 2.2 inches taller, and the rear track is 1.2 inches wider than it is in the 8 Series coupe. This massive car weighs in at 4,262 pounds to give you the 840i size you want, but if you move to the M850i, you’llhave 4,758 pounds of heft to drive around and use on the road.

More Changes to this BMW

When you see the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe sitting next to a standard 8 Series model, it looks more upright and has a smoother roofline. The Gran Coupe has a more upright windshield to account for the extra headroom. There is a panoramic glass roof with a moonroof which makes it possible to get rid of the shark fin antenna because there is a multi-function antenna that’s been integrated intothe rear window. This allows you to have plenty of light and aerial view when you take this large car out with the family for a weekend getaway.

Great Tech for Your Pleasure

Step into the cockpit of the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and you’re going to see the 12.3-inch screen which offers the Live Cockpit Professional configurable gauges for you. You’ll also have the latest head-up display to give you the readings you want to see in your line of sight. The 10.25-inch infotainment screen gives you iDrive for the system you need to use with your smartphone. This car will be ready for you and at dealers to be the car you want to drive with the BMW logo on the front.
