2020 Kia Soul Enters a New Generation

2020 Kia Soul Enters a New Generation

For the 2020 model year, the Kia Soul is going to enter its third generation. This new generation could be the best one yet and it offers you the qualities you’re looking for when you want to have a hatchback with some fun and funky style for the drive. There are several compact crossover SUVs that can be perfect for you to drive and the Kia Soul is one that will give you the modern feeling you want when you head out for a great drive. Let’s take a look at the new Kia Soul when it’s compared to some of the other models in its class.

The Models Compared with this 2020 Kia Soul

While there are now more compact crossover SUVs than ever before, the Kia Soul can be compared to a few specific models that are closest in a variety of ways. These models that are the most similar to the Kia Soul are the Toyota C-HR, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Kona, and Honda HR-V. These models are similar in price, power, and features to make this a fair comparison when you’re looking for the right model to take for a drive.

Performance Numbers that Matter

When you’re looking at the engines offered for these SUVs, only the Kia and Hyundai models offer you two choices, the rest only have one for you to use. Both the Kia and Hyundai models, mostly because they are joined at the hip, have the choice of either a 2.0-liter engine with 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque or a 1.6-liter turbocharged model that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. With these two engines, you’ll have the choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for the shifting you want.

The rest of these SUVs offer you only one engine. The Nissan Kicks gives you a 1.6-liter engine that makes 125 horsepower and 115 lb.-ft. of torque. The Honda HR-V gives you a 1.8-liter engine that makes 141 horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. of torque. The Toyota C-HR brings you a 2.0-liter engine that provides you with 144 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque. All of these SUVs make use of CVT automatic transmissions for the shifting. As you can see, the Kia Soul is able to give you more of what you want for the performance that makes sense on the road.

Passenger and Cargo Space in the 2020 Kia Soul

The Nissan Kicks offers you the most headroom with a little more than the Kia Soul. The front legroom is led by the Kicks, then the C-HR while the rear passenger legroom is led by the Kia Soul. For cargo carrying, the Kia Soul is the ultimate winner with a lot more space with the seats down than any of the others on the list. Take a look at the table below to see a comparison of all these SUVs and choose the right one for you, which will likely be the new 2020 Kia Soul.
