The Vantablack BMW X6 Is the Spookiest Ride on the Road

The Vantablack BMW X6 Is the Spookiest Ride on the Road

Halloween is right around the corner and BMW seems to be getting into the spirit with a new Vantablack BMW X6.

This concept SUV showed up at the Frankfurt Auto Show last year to give us a look at what BMW had in mind. Now, this SUV is real and the Vantablack paint does something that other paint hasn’t done to make it the spookiest and most sinister ride you’ll find.

Instantly an Interesting Quality

The Vantablack paint added to the BMW X6 that was shown in Frankfort gives us a vehicle that looks around as a silhouette. You don’t see the lines, you don’t see the curves, you do see the lights, windows, and wheels, but no dimension of the painted panels of the vehicle. This spooky and eerie phenomenon is something we want to know more about so that we aren’t so frightened by something we don’t understand.

What is Vantablack?

The VANTA part of Vantablack stands for Vertically Aligned Nano Tube Array. This is essentially a matrix made from microscopic bits of carbon. Normally, the paint reflects light away from a vehicle which gives it the shape and lines that we’re used to seeing. In this case, the paint absorbs the light and turns it into heat. This makes the Vantablack BMW X6 an interesting vehicle for you to see.

The Lines Eerily Disappear in the Vantablack BMW X6

The paint used on this special BMW X6 offers something spooky and strange, kind of like so many of the ghost stories that are told at this time of year. While you might not understand it, the X6 with this special paint looks flat and loses any of the three-dimensionality to the design. The curvaceous surfaces, aggressive ducktailed rear liftgate, and rippled hood are all gone from view under a seat of black darkness that seems to have made the style of this SUV disappear.

Other Items on the Vantablack BMW X6 Stand Out

With the Vantablack paint on the BMW X6, the headlights, taillights, light-up twin-kidney grille, and badges show up with a more dramatic appearance. Imagine this SUV driving down the road at night and all you can see is a pair of headlights coming at you without being able to make out the shape of the car. How many spooky stories are told with apparitions that are hard to clearly see? That’s how this SUV will look coming at you on the road at night.

The New Use is Incredible

The Vantablack paint technology was originally designed as a coating for space-borne items that would need to avoid being reflective and block out the light. BMW has found a new way to use this technology in their paint. Now is the right time to talk about the sinister and evil style the Vantablack BMW X6 has to offer. If you’re getting ready to be scared on Halloween or to scare kids when they’re out trick-or-treating, this could be the perfect vehicle for you to make their hearts jump out of their chests.
