The 2020 model year will mark the time for a mid-cycle refresh for the GMC Acadia, and it appears that GM is ready to give this SUV more of everything that you want. For the new model year, this SUV will gain three new engine options, three more gears in the automatic transmission, and more trims to make it an SUV that has more choices for you. This makes it possible for the Acadia to continue to be the SUV that you trust and drive when you want an excellent rugged and comfortable SUV.
The First Thing You’ll See for the Acadia
When you see the new 2020 model of the GMC Acadia, you’re sure to notice the new squared-off grill and a blunt front end that makes this an SUV that has the rugged look right from the start. This new appearance brings you in and captures your attention to make you feel the desire to take this SUV out on the trails to show what it can do when you get behind the wheel. Once you step inside, you’ll be glad you chose the Acadia that has the comfort and the right feel for you.
The New Power Arrives for this GMC
One of the first new engine options you’ll see is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 230 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine has been optimized for low-speed torque that maxes out at only 1,500 rpm. The 3.6-liter V6 is no longer offered for the Denali trim. This engine does remain in the lineup, but it’snow the standard power offered for the AT4 trim, although, it can be ordered for the Denali. The SLE trim is going to continue to make use of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for the drive as well.
Moving this Power to the Wheels
The right way to move power to the wheels in the right amount is with more gears in the transmission. GMC is now using a standard nine-speed automatic transmission for all three engines to make sure the power can be delivered the right way. This transmission replaces the six-speed version that was part of the previous mix. With this transmission in place, the GMC Acadia will be more efficient and you’ll feel a smoother ride as you move through the power needs of your driving on the roads and out on the trails.
Even More for You
The 2020 GMC Acadia is also being upgraded where it matters the most to you; in the cabin. You’ll find open-pore wood in the Denali, a new 8.0-inch touchscreen with higher resolution and voice recognition, and more comfortable seating. Outside, you’ll see more wheels to choose from and a look that makes you ready to drive. This new version of the GMC Acadia will be available at GMC dealerships in the fall of this year to give you the right SUV to drive when you’re ready to enjoy the changing of the leaves on the trails that you love to visit.
