For several years, we’ve enjoyed the Ford Edge Sport model as part of the lineup offered for this SUV. In an effort to give us performance models in the crossover lineup, Ford added the ST badge to the Edge for the 2019 model year. This ST model is the hottest Edge model being offered and it brings a slight increase in the sport items we’ve seen on the Edge Sport. Changing the Game for 2019
For the 2019 model year, the Ford Edge will be offered without the Sport trim which is replaced by the ST trim. The Edge ST gives us revised software for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine to produce 335 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. These numbers are more than what we had in the previous Sport trim. The transmission is now an eight-speed automatic which replaces the six-speed model that was partof the package in the past. The ST offers standard AWD with a torque split system that gives you the traction where you need it.

The power increase for this SUV is enough to make it possible for this to be one of the quickest SUV models in its class. The Edge ST can reach sixty mph in 5.7 seconds and finish the sprint of a quarter-mile in 14.3 seconds at 98 mph.
