2019 Toyota 4Runner: A Different Breed You’ll Admire

2019 Toyota 4Runner: A Different Breed You’ll Admire

For 2019, if you’re looking for a tough, rugged, and capable SUV to drive, the Toyota 4Runner could be the right choice.

Crossover SUVs have grown in popularity over the past several years to bring us more of the qualities we’re looking for along with the versatility we desire. The Toyota 4Runner has been part of the market for many years and it now looks increasingly like a different type of model for the drive. This is one of the few crossovers on the market that’s not based on a car platform with its use of a body-on-frame construction.

An SUV Built for Adventure

We’ve known the Toyota 4Runner for many years, and because of the age of the platform, it’s a vehicle that won’t bring you the electronic driving aids that you see in modern vehicles. That’s ok though, this is an SUV that’s built to be tough and rugged on the trails and still be road-ready when you need it to be. If you’re looking for a great way to get out on the paths that aren’t paved, you need to think about the 4Runner as the model that can take you where you want to go.

More Racing Development in the Toyota 4Runner

For the 2019 model year, the changes to the 4Runner center around the TRD Pro trim. This trim now receives a navigation system, an improved JBL audio system, and a revised suspension. This suspension features Fox Internal Bypass shocks to give you a great ride. All of these features are a standard part of this trim of the 4Runner, making it an easy choice for you to have the driving experience you’re looking for when you head out on the trails or head to work for the day.

The Standard Packages

The 2019 4Runner is offered in SR5, SR5 Premium, Limited, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and TRD Pro trim levels. The basic SR5 model gives you an Entune audio system with a connected navigation app and Siri Eyes Free. You’ll also enjoy Bluetooth connectivity and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat in this SUV. The TRD models have the benefit of AWD, water-resistant seat fabric, a locking rear differential, a multi-terrain selection, and crawl control. The TRD Pro receives the new 15-speaker JBL sound system and the Limited trim has 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate controls, leather seats, a moonroof, and the X-REAS suspension for improved body control.

Options You Can Choose From

While there are plenty of impressive standard items that make the list of features you can enjoy in the Toyota 4Runner, there are a few options to choose from as well. AWD is an option in the SR5 and Limited models. Other extras you can choose include the third-row seat, a sliding cargo deck, the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, and the choice of Voodoo Blue paint if you choose to drive one of the TRD models that are offered for this SUV.

Excellent Power for the Drive

As an SUV that’s been around a long time, the Toyota 4Runner uses a powertrain that sounds like it’s been around for a while. The engine is a 4.0-liter V6 model that offers you 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to a five-speed automatic transmission and the powertrain has the ability to tow up to 5,000 pounds when you need to take a trailer with you. You’ll have an average of 18 mpg whether you choose the RWD models or you add the benefits of AWD to the mix for your drive.

The Toyota 4Runner is an Excellent Choice

If you truly want to have a capable vehicle on the trails, you need to consider the 2019 Toyota 4Runner. This is one of the SUVs left on the market that didn’t transition to a crossover build with a car platform. This SUV is rugged, tough, capable, and ready to take on the trails. Visit your nearby Toyota dealership and see what this SUV can have for you to enjoy the drive when you’re ready for some adventures out in the wilderness. This is an SUV that’s ready to have the drive you need today.
