The Real Reason You Need an SUV(Part 1)

The Real Reason You Need an SUVPart 1

When you’re ready to purchase an SUV you’re likely looking for a vehicle that offers you room to carry the stuff you want to take with you. The term SUV stands for Sport Utility Vehicle, which means that it’s supposed to fill many of the needs you have when its time to get out on the road. With more of these crossovers on the market than ever before, you need to know how much space is offered for you to carry the items you want with you when you drive. Let’s take a look at the utility offered for several different crossover SUVs and we’ll wrap up the conversation in Part 2.

Small Sub-Compact Class

Hyundai Kona

As one of the newest to the market in the smallest of the SUV classes, this impressive little Hyundai SUV can give you a reasonable amount of room for what you need. The cargo capacity with the rear seats up is 19.2 cubic feet which increases to 45.8 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. In an SUV that’s small and able to give you the efficiency and comfort you need, this is a lot of room.

FordEcoSport

Another newcomer to the market is the Ford EcoSport which finds its way below the Escape in the lineup. This little SUV is one that brings you 20.9 cubic feet of room with passengers in the rear seat and expands to 50 cubic feet of useful storage room when the seats are folded down. Take a look at this little vehicle when you’re ready to enjoy the ride and need a small crossover.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

This is one of the most affordable choices you can make when you’re looking for an SUV in this class, and it brings you a generous amount of useful space. The capacity starts at 22.6 cubic feet with the seats up and expands to a full 48.9 cubic feet when the seats are folded down so that you can carry whatever cargo you need when its time to get out on the road.

Compact Crossover Class

Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox is one of the most popular choices you can find on the market and it offers you a great deal of qualities that you’re going to love including the roominess inside. The cargo room with the seats occupied is 29.9 cubic feet which expands to 63.5 cubic feet when you fold down the rear seats and make use of this vehicle for the cargo you need to carry.

Honda CR-V

The most popular SUV on the market is the Honda CR-V and this model is one that will make you even more comfortable with the useful cargo room you find inside the cabin. The capacity shows up at 39.2
cubic feet to give you ample storage behind the rear seats and then expands to a full 75.8 cubic feet once the seats are folded and you need to carry larger items.

Volkswagen Tiguan

When you take a look at the new Tiguan, you’re going to notice the new models are longer than the old ones. This means an increased cargo volume of 12 cubic feet behind the third row of seats, 33 cubic feet when the third row is folded down, and 65.7 cubic feet of useful space when the second row is folded flat. This makes the Tiguan a great choice when you need more seats.

BMW X3

If you’re going for the luxury lineup and you want an athletic choice, the BMW X3 can be an excellent choice. The cargo room offered is 28.7 cubic feet when you have passengers in the rear seat. This spacious area is increased to 62.7 cubic feet when you fold these seats down and fill this area with the items that you need to take on the road.

Jaguar F-Pace

For many years Jaguar didn’t offer any SUVs for us to drive, but the F-Pace has changed that and gives us the room we need to carry gear and enjoy the pleasure of a Jag. The cargo room you’ll find in this SUV is 33.5 cubic feet with the seats up and 63.5 cubic feet once the seats are folded down and you load up the rear with the gear you need to take with you.
