Midsize SUVs Going Head to Head

Midsize SUVs Going Head to Head

Do you and your family need to have a midsize SUV to drive around in? There are several to choose from as this is one of the largest parts of the automotive market right now. If you’re looking for the crossover that’s going to give you the most impressive value for the money you spend, it’s time for you to have a look at a pair that should be near the top of your list. The Chevrolet Traverse and the Kia Sorento are both considered to be leaders in this area and should be ones you want to drive.

The Exterior Look

With a modern look and excellent brand and model that we’ve loved for many years, the Traverse sits between the Equinox and the Tahoe as a vehicle that can carry your family. This size makes it the perfect choice to offer you the easy driving feel and the dramatic appeal you want when you’re ready to head out on the road. The style is handsome and tasteful without being polarizing, which makes the Traverse the right choice when you’re looking for something that offers you the feeling you’ve been searching for.

Turning to the Sorento, you’ll see another model that rides around on the road in a tasteful package that feels stylish and dynamic for the ride. Up front, you’ll find the quad-LED lights that have been a staple of the Sorento at the top trim levels for a few years now. This model is one that shows off with a handsome look at the size you’re going to be comfortable in when it’s time to head out on the road and take a ride.

Stepping Inside

The Chevrolet Traverse is an SUV that offers you the design you want and the ergonomics to make it comfortable and enjoyable on the road. There are plenty of knobs and buttons to allow you to have the controls you want along with a sharp LCD display screen for the infotainment system. Passengers will be greeted to plenty of leg room in order to have the comfort and ride they want to enjoy. The Kia brings you a look that’s admirable and a panoramic moonroof but has a smaller infotainment screen that’s’ not nearly as exciting for you to have the drive you want when you head out on the road. The contrasting colors that are part of the Sorento make it difficult to keep the Sorento clean for your daily driving enjoyment.

Practicality

Most of your driving will be with your family securely fastened in the seats around you. With this in mind, it makes sense to see how these two compare when it comes to room inside the cabin. The Traverse offers you a wheelbase that’s nearly a foot longer than the Sorento and a third row of seats that can fit adults when it’s time to have room for everyone to ride along. The Kia does have a third row of seats but it’s much smaller than the Chevrolet.

Under the Hood

When you pop the hood of the Kia Sorento you’ll see a 3.3-liter V6 to power the drive with 290 horsepower while the Traverse offers you a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 310 horsepower for the drive you want. In addition to offering more horses under the hood, it take the Traverse fewer revs to reach its peak level of torque to give you the power for the drive and the towing you want. Both of these vehicles are able to tow as much as 5,000 pounds to handle the ride you need and the ability to take stuff with you for the drive.

Which One is Right for You?

When you choose the Chevrolet Traverse you have the benefits of 4G LTE Wi-Fi, excellent cargo capacity, the handsome design you’ll admire and a larger third row of seats. In the Sorento, you have a vehicle that feels a bit more luxurious with more refined driving dynamics. If you’re in need of the practical value that fits your family the right way, the Traverse will be the one you want to drive and enjoy when you head out on the road.
