BMW X3 – A New and Improved Athlete in the Mix

BMW X3 - A New and Improved Athlete in the Mix

The new BMW X3 compact luxury crossover SUV will make its way to the market to give us an attractive and athletic SUV to love and enjoy.

The automotive world is one that offers such a large variety of models that you can choose from that you’ll be able to look around and find a ton of great vehicles that have everything you want for the drive. Everywhere you look you’re going to see variations on standard models that upgrade the performance, the comfort, or the efficiency, depending on what you’re searching for to have the drive you need to enjoy on the road. One example of an upgraded model has been introduced and will be offered with an incredible upgrade in the next several months.

While this version is finished and ready to give us the ride we’re looking for, the BMW team isn’t likely to rest on its laurels and pat itself on the back. Instead, this team is ready to show off what they know and allow their tuning partner to have a crack at the X3 to discover some of the hidden performance that can make this the right choice for you.

Going Alpina with the BMW X3

The Alpina version of the XD3 model has been spotted testing near Nurburgring and it’s an interesting choice for the ride. Using the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine that is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission this could be the right way to have this SUV tuned up and enjoyed. Currently, the Alpina XD3 that’s on the market provides 350 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque which makes us certain this new model of the vehicle will have just as much power if not more to give you an exciting and fun ride on the road.

Because of the diesel layout of this SUV, we won’t see the Alpina XD3 sold in North America at all. If you want a more powerful version of the X3 in order to have the performance and the drive you’re looking for you’ll have to look for the XM3 when it shows up and gives you the tuned up gasoline-powered engine. That doesn’t mean we can’t admire what the Alpina XD3 offer and how easily it can be the right will model for those looking for something more when they want an excellent and athletic model to drive.

The prototypes that have been testing show only minor changes compared to the standard crossover, but you can expect more changes to take place as the development of the Alpina model continues. The idea is to have this model tuned up without going overboard with the changes and upgrades that are part of what you can expect to see with this new model. We expect to see the completed version of the new Alpina XD3 next year at the Geneva Motor Show to give us a full set of statistics that are sure to be impressive and capture our attention.
