When you shop for a vehicle you typically have to visit several different dealers if you want to find models that are closely related in size, performance, and price. Most brands offer you one vehicle in each class, but there is a brand that has built two models that are closely related and could easily be on your shortlist.
Not only are these two related in size and performance, but the pricing isn’t far off at all, giving you a choice that can be difficult, but with these two you won’t have to visit different brand dealerships.
The FCA Group has figured out the success of their future is going to ride on the backs of the Ram and Jeep brands. With this in mind, the Jeep brand has been developed and grown to offer us more of what we want than ever. As we anticipate that arrival of more models over the next couple of years, the new Jeep Compass is similar in size, interior room, and powertrain with the larger Cherokee. The Compass is supposed to be in the compact class and the Cherokee in the mid-sized class, but both could be the right choice for your drive.
Cherokee Trailhawk
The Trailhawk trim level is one that brings the most power for both of these SUVs and certainly is where we can find what we’re looking for. This is an impressive SUV with a powerful AWD V6 engine under the hood to make it possible for you to head out on the trails and have a lot of fun wherever you want to go. This SUV has been on the market for just a few years in its current form and it will continue to give you the excellent performance you’re looking for.
You’ll find 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats that expands to 55 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. In addition to an excellent amount of space, the Cherokee brings you the benefit of the comfort and the features you want to enjoy in a vehicle that sits up higher and is ready to head out on the trails and become the SUV that works perfectly for you every day. The starting price for this SUV resides just north of $30,000 and can increase to nearly $40,000 depending on the features and options you choose to have included.
Compass Trailhawk
The Compass of old is gone and the new model is here with a more substantial footprint and a more impressive way to handle the drive. This new SUV takes some of its cues from the Renegade, which it shares a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with, and some from the large Grand Cherokee to bring a small vehicle that offers you a build and a feel that’s more than what you see in most compact crossover SUVs on the market. This SUV offers you a comfortable and attractive build inside to make it an easy choice for you to drive.
Even though the new Compass is smaller in size than the Cherokee, the interior space is only 1.3 cubic feet less than the larger SUV, making it one that provides you with a generous amount of room in the cabin. The price for this SUV will remain under $30,000, even in the top Trailhawk trim and you’ll admire the fuel efficiency you’ll find in this new Compass that’s built to head out on the trails and have a lot of fun. This is a versatile choice you can make with a much smaller footprint than what you have in the Cherokee.
Which One Should You Choose?
The decision of which one of these two you should drive is completely up to you. The offers you’ll find at the dealerships might make it easy enough to choose between them and figure out which one you want to enjoy. Thankfully, you can drive either one at your nearby Jeep dealership, making the shopping much simpler than it has been in the past. These two are obviously closely related, but they’re much closer in size and ability than you might have thought. Stop by and take the Cherokee and Compass for a drive and pick out the one that’s right for you.
